That's a wrap

I hope you all had a great weekend! Like I mentioned last week Monday is going to be prop day, where I will highlight the work of some of my favourite stylists, photographers and interior designers. What I love is that more often than not all three of these people come into play to create a successful shoot. These shots will really make me think twice the next time I wrap a present. Packaged Wednesday, JME

It's amazing what good packaging can do. If you are like me [and I am hoping that some of you are], I turn into a zombie when confronted with a pretty package or tag. In that moment it doesn't matter if I will never eat or wear what ever that pretty label is adorning, I want... I need that item! Jamie Oliver's packaging for his JME line of food and kitchen accessories is having that effect on me [although I have a feeling that the product is just as good as the packaging]. Check back every Wednesday for my latest packaging love.

Video Tuesday: The making of Season 5's Dexter Poster

oh this is just so cool! Ty Mattson has just released another one of his infamous Dexter posters following the end of season 5. Lucky for us he decided to document his process by filming his screen while he designed the poster. You can really appreciate what goes into every detail of them after watching this. I love [and am completely fascinated by the world of] prop stylists, interior designers and the photographers that shoot their work. So much so I am going to designate Monday's to highlighting some of my favourites. Kim Ficaro began her styling career as the style editor at Domino Magazine [sigh] and has since done work for O Magazine, Town and Country Mag and West Elm, just to name a few. I love her natural colour palettes and the way she makes everything look cozy but organized.

More Muppets

wow, my second post dedicated to the Muppets. I've recently come across a couple of muppet themed illustrations that I just had to share. The first, Minimalist Muppets by designer Eric Slager and the other is a great t-shirt that can be found here.

Blasted Church

I often find myself buying a bottle of wine because of the label design. If Blasted Church wines were available here on the Rock I think I would find myself in its aisle every time. Hailing from Okanagan Falls in B.C., Blasted Church Vineyard worked with Red Nose Studio to create these incredible labels.

People Too Paper

Good Morning! I hope you all had a great weekend. It's no secret that I love paper and all that can be done with it. Well this morning I have to share with you the work of People Too. Their work is so beautiful and fun! I have major paper artwork envy at the moment.

Type transformed

I always enjoy seeing letters and in this case punctuation transformed into illustrations. These are some of my favourite to date, by the very talented Leanda Xavian.

Yellow Owl

In keeping with today's stamp theme, I also wanted to share these fantastic stamp sets from Yellow Owl Workshop. The linen bags that the stamp sets come in make me love them that much more!

Ever since hosting a craft night before the holidays I have been hooked on stamps. I came across this lovely etsy shop called eat pray create and immediately appreciated and loved the [handmade] stamps. So cute!

As you wish

If asked, my sister and I could easily recite The Princess Bride in it entirety. I have a sneaking suspicion that illustrator Katie McDee could as well after seeing this amazing illustration she did for a charity auction.

Puppy love

I made these little ornaments for our wonderful Christmas Dinner hosts. Instead of a traditional holiday decoration I decided to use their cute little dogs as my inspiration. Their bodies are made out of white fimo clay [I used a toothpick to add all the detailing]. A small brush and acrylic paint did the trick when adding the colour! 

Fantastic

I came across the very talented Fantastic Hysteria just the other day and had to share some of his amazing work. Wowzers.

Road Trip

Every month I look forward to browsing Anthropologie's latest catalogue online. January's theme is "The Road Trip" and as usual they nailed the styling. Who would have ever thought to display the couch and rug on top of the station wagon? Love!
