Christmas Lights

This morning I thought I'd share with you [even though a lot of you have probably already seen it] Coldplay's recently released video for their holiday song called Christmas Lights. Great song, beautiful video, enjoy!

White Christmas

From the looks of things we are going to have a rainy christmas here on the rock. The rain won't dampen my christmas spirit though! Click here to head to the etsy shop where these wintery photographs came from.

Happy Holidays

Today I'd like to share the work of Geninne D. Zlatkis. I am a huge huge fan! [of her work and blog] Her infamous birds can be seen printed on pillows at Urban Outfitters, on a line of soap and candles and journals and of course her online shop. I just love her use of colour and how she incorporates sheet music, or old maps and stamps. She also just posted a great decoration tutorial [it involves fimo clay!] that I think I am going to try this weekend! I will be sure to share the results next week!

Check out Geninne's blog to download this amazing desktop!

Lonny for the holidays

Some of my favourite spreads from the Holiday Mini Issue of the always drool worthy online magazine Lonny. Yes, I have a major thing for colourful mismatched pillows and to the ceiling book shelves.

Thought of You, Video Tuesday

2d Animation + The Weepies = Incredible.

Animator Ryan Woodward has quite a resume. Space Jam, Spider-man 2 & 3, Where the Wild Things Are just to name a few. This video is a part of his latest project, Conte Animated, an exhibition that features figurative works and animation. I can't get over how beautiful it is. Click here for the making of Thought of You. Enjoy!

Special Visitor

Between a certain someone finally getting home and a visit from my sister it was a great weekend here on the rock. Megan is used to a much warmer climate but she was a trooper, braving the cold to see the sites and even going on a hike!

Gift Guide Styling

One of the things I really look forward to this time of year is the gift guides found in just about every magazine in December. I don't really use them as "guides" but what I love most is how each publication styles them. New York Magazine and Real Simple always do a great job as well as Real Living Magazine [from Australia], below are some sample shots from this years guide, found on a blog favourite of mine Daily Imprint.

DIY Garland

I spotted this garland on Toast and thought it would make a great do it yourself project. All you need is thin cardboard, a pencil, scissors, wire and twine or ribbon. Draw the outline of trees and reindeer onto the cardboard, cut out the shapes and use the wire to poke a hole through the shapes and attached them to the twine or ribbon.

Window Shopping

I was anxious to see what Anthropologie was going to dream up for their Holiday window displays and just as I suspected they didn't disappoint. Click here for a great round-up of NYC's holiday window displays.

I love the sock squirrels!

Some of my other favourite windows from Tiffany & Co, Macy's and Bergdorf Goodman

Instead of a video I wanted to share with you a great holiday song by the wonderful Toby Lightman. Enjoy! (if you aren't able to play or view the the track player click here to go to the link!)

Penny's Pictures

As you have probably guessed I love anything that has to do with interiors, design, and styling.  Penny Wincer captures it all in her photos.

I love the pop of colour!

Those Red Cups

I always look forward to seeing what the Starbucks design team has come up with for the Holiday's. Those Red Cups have been out for awhile and I really love the graphics this year along with their "sharing" theme. Starting today they are doing a Twelve Days of Sharing and I thought that their website is really neat and also highlights this year's holiday characters well.

Welcome December

I'm not sure what happened to November but Happy December 1st!

Do What You Love

Anna Bond recently got featured in The Gap's Do What You Love video series. I am a huge, huge fan of her work and company, Rifle Paper Co.

The brains behind the Do What You Love videos is Ryan of Pacing the Panic Room, you can check out all the other videos to date here.

Such a great idea and so inspirational!

Rolling in the Deep

I can't tell you how excited I am about this album (coming out in February). Adele is simply amazing. That voice... it's incredible. I currently have her latest single, Rolling in the Deep, on repeat and thought I'd share, enjoy!

What Katie Ate

What Katie Ate is a blog favourite of mine. Katie is a food stylist and photographer from Australia and her blog is where she shares recipes along with accompanying photos. Just a warning, I wouldn't look at her blog on an empty stomach.

The Art of Letterpress

I recently stumbled upon the gorgeous work and website of Sideshow Press. I'd like to share a section from their site called, The Art of Letterpress. A beautiful lesson through pictures.
p.s. Their blog is now a new favourite of mine.
