For the Weekend

Happy Friday Everyone! This weekend is shaping up to be a nice one. Dinner, running, hiking and the first Christmas craft show of the season... can't go wrong! As a morning person I am very much looking forward to turning my clock back an hour on Sunday and I am also going to find the time to peruse West Elm's Blog, Front & Main.

New Music, No Room for Doubt

Between the new Feist and Florence and the Machine Albums [highly recommend them both!] I have also been enjoying this artist, Lianne La Havas. She only has an ep available at the moment with a full length album due out in 2012. I hope you enjoy this song, No Room for Doubt, as much as I do. It's a little on the slower side but great for a chilly morning like this one.

November?

I can't believe that yesterday was November 1st. It is around this time that I start making my christmas craft list. I have quite a few projects I would like to tackle and I am looking forward to sharing! The new Anthropologie Catalogue has definitely got me into the holiday spirit and is full of festive inspiration!

Envelope Pillows

We recently painted out living room walls and are now in the midst of bringing the room to life with a new colour palette and accessories. I will post more on the room itself as it comes together but for now I'd like to share this great pillow case tutorial that I found online and a sneak peak at how my pillows turned out. This tutorial is for an envelope style accent pillow and it couldn't be any easier!

Inconceivable

I came across this photo and article a couple of days ago and had to share it. My sister and I are huge Princess Bride fans. When I say huge I mean we can recite the entire movie, steep hills are instantly called the cliffs of insanity, we have been known to yell "INCONCEIVABLE!" or "As you wish" while we roll down sand dunes and on our trip to Australia a couple of years ago I am quite certain we saw an actual R.O.U.S. [Rodent of unusual size].

The Smell of Fall

Things I love most about fall: The specialty coffees, the crisp temperature that is perfect for fleecy wearing. Also perfect for hiking and running. Below are a few snaps from the long weekend spent in the Wentworth Valley.

Wet Felting

A couple of weeks ago I took a wet felting course at Gaspereau Valley Fibres in Wolfville N.S. Louise and Elaine of Fibre Ensemble were our fantastic [and patient] instructors. Everyone in the class left with their very own wet felted laptop cozy and, for me, a new hobby [oh great!]. Below are a few photos that I took throughout the day. I will post my a photo of the final piece next week when I've had a chance to add a few decorative elements. Have a great Thanksgiving weekend everyone!

Colourful Acorns

It was this particular felting project that made me want to pick up this new hobby. I kept seeing these felted acorns on Etsy and thought that they were just the cutest things. I have been patiently waiting for acorns to hit the ground and a few weeks ago, there they were! Below is a photo series that shows a bit of the process of making these felted little guys.
