Wise Owl

I had planned on being the Paper Bag Princess for Halloween. I quickly discovered that making the dress was much more difficult then I had envisioned. After several failed attempts I was forced to abandon the Princess idea and come up with something else that I could create in a few hours. Miss Martha Stewart came to my rescue, she had some great ideas for last minute costumes - one of them being fun masks. I paired some brown cords and a ruffly yellow shirt with the mask and voila! Wise Owl.

Chocolate Monsters

Cupcakes I made for our Halloween pot-luck at work. These are so much fun to make! I recommend making a trip to bulk barn to find candy to make the faces - the possibilities are endless!

This is not exactly a last minute Halloween costume but I thought I'd share my creation from last year. This year's costume won't really compare to last year but I am quite excited to be the paper bag princess.

For the longest time my casual sneaker of choice have been Puma's. That is until I came across these Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars last spring.

Every year Evian partners with a notable fashion designer to create collector bottles. This year British fashion designer Paul Smith designed this fun eye-catching bottle. 

All that jazz

It was on a mother/daughter trip to Montreal years ago that an original Clifford Bailey painting, perched in a gallery window caught my eye. Other than drooling over his online gallery I have never seen a full sized original or print since then. Imagine my surprise when I came across this Clifford Bailey print as the focal point at a restaurant here in St. John's. Yet another reason why I love this city.

UP!

 

Just 2 of 6 posters Eric Tan did for Disney/Pixar. I'm a little jealous.

Eric Tan got one of the coolest jobs around when he was asked to work with the filmmakers at Disney/Pixar on the Style guide for UP, these posters [that capture the mood of the film perfectly] were part of the guide. 

He has also done work with ACME on posters for Indiana Jones and just contributed a poster in celebration of the final season of Lost. 

If you didn't get a chance to see UP in Theatres, it should be on the top of your must-see list when it comes out on dvd.
