I came across the work of Scottish textile artist Aileen Clarke while doing some research to get inspired to tackle another wet felting project. You don't have to be a felt fan to be instantly captured by her landscapes made of various fibres. I especially love how she incorporates her sewing machine to add an extra layer of texture.

That's a Wrap
With all the snow we received this week I am officially in holiday mode. This means that this weekend I will be setting up my holiday craft workshop, i.e. taking over a large section of the house for various home made projects... sorry Dave! If you happen to feel the same way but aren't sure what to create why not make your own stamps or wrapping paper? Click here for a tutorial I did for hgtv.ca.

Master Minder
There are a few blogs I follow that make a point of highlighting or capturing moments that are just... well.. wonderful. They are catagorized into posts titled Simple Things or Small Joys for example. I always love these posts and have wanted to start doing them myself. In the next couple of weeks Halfsweet vanilla is going to go through a bit of a makeover and this will be one of the additions.
In an attempt to turn off the darn tv and use our noggins more. Dave and I have been enjoying Master Mind. Such a great game! So far, I am the Master Minder.
Letterpress Workshop
This weekend I took part in a NSCAD Extended Studies Letterpress workshop. Two days of type, card making, letterpressing glory! It was absolutely wonderful to spend two days making things with my hands [no computer in sight] and using these beautiful presses.

Minimal is more
Thanks so much to Laura [Runty Mouse] Hogan for showing me wonderful posters. How great are they? They are designed by Christian Jackson and the whole series can be seen on his Square Inch Design Blog. Definitely one of those, why didn't I think of that, moments!

For the Weekend
Happy Friday Everyone! This weekend is shaping up to be a nice one. Dinner, running, hiking and the first Christmas craft show of the season... can't go wrong! As a morning person I am very much looking forward to turning my clock back an hour on Sunday and I am also going to find the time to peruse West Elm's Blog, Front & Main.

New Music, No Room for Doubt
Between the new Feist and Florence and the Machine Albums [highly recommend them both!] I have also been enjoying this artist, Lianne La Havas. She only has an ep available at the moment with a full length album due out in 2012. I hope you enjoy this song, No Room for Doubt, as much as I do. It's a little on the slower side but great for a chilly morning like this one.

November?
I can't believe that yesterday was November 1st. It is around this time that I start making my christmas craft list. I have quite a few projects I would like to tackle and I am looking forward to sharing! The new Anthropologie Catalogue has definitely got me into the holiday spirit and is full of festive inspiration!

Envelope Pillows
We recently painted out living room walls and are now in the midst of bringing the room to life with a new colour palette and accessories. I will post more on the room itself as it comes together but for now I'd like to share this great pillow case tutorial that I found online and a sneak peak at how my pillows turned out. This tutorial is for an envelope style accent pillow and it couldn't be any easier!
